Biomedical Engineering, B.S./M.S. Fast Track
Jessica Thompson graduated with her undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering with a minor in chemistry from the University of Iowa in May 2017. She continued her studies at Iowa in the BSE/MS fast track program, with the Tucker Lab's support she worked on using photopolymerization to fabricate biodegradable tissue scaffolds. The focus of her research was on using polycaprolactone (PCL) and two-photon 3D printing to reliably fabricate structures. Results of these initial structures will be used to produce intricately designed, biodegradable retinal tissue scaffolds in the future. She graduated with her MS in biomedical engineering at Iowa in May 2018 and is going on to pursue a PhD in bioengineering from Northeastern University in Boston.
